Rangers Youth Hockey Night and MORE
by posted 11/13/2018

There's a lot going on in and around the MYHA that we wanted to make sure you were aware of:

* Our friends at the New York Rangers invite all MYHA players, coaches and families to be part of Youth Hockey Night at Madison Square Garden on Monday, Nov. 19th. Tickets for the Rangers-Stars game start at $64, and there's a special pregame Youth Hockey Forum and a Q&A session with Rangers alumni. Attendees will have a chance to win unique Rangers pregame and in-game experiences. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

* Don't forget that this Saturday and Sunday have been designated Mamaroneck Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend. The MYHA, the Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Department's House Hockey program and the Mamaroneck High School varsity all will be in action at Hommocks over the course of the weekend. Be sure to wear lavender to your kids' games to show your sartorial style and your support for the NHL's and NHL Player Association's Hockey Fights Cancer initiative. Visit our online fundraiser page to find the schedule for this weekend's full slate of home games. And please keep this community-wide campaign in mind come Giving Tuesday (Nov. 27th).

* Registration is open for two camps, one in the near term, one way down the road (but with a rapidly approaching early registration discount deadline).

There are still spots available for the Erik Nates Euro Hockey Thanksgiving Clinic, which will be held next week (Nov. 23-25) from 8:30-11:00 a.m. at the Ice Hutch. Click here to register and to find out about Nates camps coming up during the holiday break.

Planet Hockey will return to Hommocks next summer (August 26-30, 2019). The five-day camp features a full-menu of skills and drills, plus dryland training and video lectures. For more information and to register, click here. If you sign up, be sure to use the Coupon Code (PHSAVE50) for a $50 discount.

Mamaroneck Hockey Fights Cancer campaign
by posted 11/10/2018

Hockey Fights Cancer was founded in 1998 by the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA). Since its inception, the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative has resulted in donations of more than $20 million to support the cancer programs of local and national cancer research institutions, children’s hospitals, player charities, and local charities.

This year, the Mamaroneck Youth Hockey Association, the Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Department's House Hockey program and Mamaroneck High School's hockey teams will team up to support the HFC Assist initiative, joining the NHL, NHLPA, and American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer. We hope to unite our vibrant hockey community to raise awareness and funds to support cancer patients and their families.

We hope you will join the fight and click here to contribute to this online fundraiser. And we hope to see you at Hommocks during Mamaroneck Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend: Nov. 17-18. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, there will be 11 MYHA games played, as well as a high school varsity scrimmage and the second week of House Hockey (see full schedule below). In advance of the weekend, all team managers will receive a few rolls of lavender stick tape for their players to share. All MYHA families are invited to hear a few words from MYHA president Brendan Collins prior to Saturday's 12U Cubs game; if you come to that game, be sure to stick around for the MHS Saturday night scrimmage immediately afterward. Whichever game you choose to attend over the weekend, be sure to wear lavender -- the official color of the Hockey Fights Cancer campaign. Surely you have some in your wardrobe!

After you make an online contribution, be sure to check whether your company will match your donation. Many companies do -- especially in conjunction with Giving Tuesday (Nov. 27th) -- and corporate charitable matches could double the money we raise!

Thank you for supporting this important initiative and this team effort by Mamaroneck's entire hockey community.
